Chris: I found this pic of German's doing parkour outside the reichstag! It got me thinking about using the redemptive aspects of German youth culture to be effective witnesses. I keep thinking about how with this church plant we have this amazing blank slate to draw on, and we can draw whatever the Holy Spirit wants us to! New ideas, creative ways of reaching out to a culture that's going to be different and postmodern and yet alive with possibilities...

Yes guys Germany is alive with possibilities for a spiritual harvest in terms of culture and economy, among other things.
I think, the dynamic economic growth of the country is aslo one aspect that we must turn into financing the kingdom.
I read on the Friday 24 August edition of Financial Times that Germany is experiencing a boom in its economy with a surplus of Euro 1.2bn , the highest after 20 years.
I saw similar reports on EuroNews and CNN. It jut struck me that some economists and accountant on our church plant team will rechannel this money for the Kingdom of God.
Keep selectively perceiving Germany!
Dean said... I definitely agree with you bro. I read somewhere that the youth of today will basically align themselves with the most powerful force that desires their attention – e.g. MTV, Hollywood. But what could be more powerful and more desiring of our youth than Father God Himself?! The youth of Germany find themselves at a cross-road of identity and purpose. The question hanging in the air is: who wants them the most? We must go to show God's passionate love for them and His powerful strength to lead them into their destiny and purpose.
I'm excited about this... I think God would really love to invade "their" space. I want my God to become "their" God. I feel it's important to be relevant even if it costs my comfort or dress style or even prefered mode of language!
Parkour! I'M KEEN!

Greetings of Berlin.
The picture in fact catches the relaxed attitute Berliners have toward "big stuff" - political buildings etc.
The area in front of the Reichstag is in fact famous for diverse activities. During the time the wall was still up (20 meters behind the Building) the Reichstag was not in use for parliament. One of my friends told - because of the lack of hills (Berlin is really flat - great for cycling) - he practiced uphil driving on the driveway leading up to the main entrance of the Reichstag...with his driving instructor.
I remember standing at the back entrance, looking at the wall...and hearing classical Music - from East Berlin. As I stood there praying it touched me very much that this wall could not hold back everything.
Thanks guys (and girls) for praying for Berlin and dreaming and planning to impact the city. God bless you! Kerstin
Chris, or anyone for that matter - what is 'parkour'? Excuse my ignorance!
